Brief Bio
Dr. Monica Pereira is a Lecturer in the Department of Computer Science at Brunel University London. She is a Chartered Cyberpsychologist, co-lead of the Human–Computer Interaction (HCI) Research Group, and the departmental lead for Athena Swan. She is particularly interested in how non-verbal behaviour can be recognised and modelled to support more effective and empathic interactions. Through her Athena Swan role, Monica works to promote equality, diversity and inclusion within the department and across the wider university community. Her teaching and research reflect a commitment to user-centred design, inclusivity and mentoring the next generation of researchers and practitioners in HCI and cyberpsychology.
