Prof. Golnaz Badkobeh

Head of Department of Computer Science, City St. George’s, University of London 

 

Brief Bio

Prof. Golnaz Badkobeh is a Computer Scientist. She is the head of the department of Computer Science, City St George’s, University of London. Prior to joining City St George’s, she was a deputy head of the department of Computing at Goldsmiths University of London, where she was also the Athena SWAN lead, promoting gender equality in Computing.

She has a BSc in Mathematics from University of Bristol and a PhD in Informatics from King’s College London. She was a Leverhulme Fellow at the University of Warwick and a research associate at the University of Sheffield. Her research has two main themes: combinatorial aspects of repetition in sequential data, and algorithmic and data structural problems in string processing.

Prof. Golnaz is committed to continue her extensive work on equity and inclusion in HE and to make a meaningful impact on student and staff experience at City.
